Top Five Procedures for Reducing Wrinkles

When we begin to get older, time begins to catch up with us. We see that it’s easier to gain weight, harder to lose it, skin can become baggy, creating wrinkles, and much of our old selves become difficult to recognize in the mirror. However, with the marvels of modern technology and innovative new procedures, we can roll back the clock and see the selves of years past. Here are five examples of the best ways to reduce wrinkles.

Face Lift

Many claim that the only real cure for a sagging face is a facelift. This procedure will set your clock back about 10 to 15 years—a really dramatic difference. Doctors will set up an initial appointment to test the elasticity of your skin and the bone structure and underlying skin structure to create a custom plan detailing specifics on your procedure. Your skill will be pulled back and you will see a new you immediately.

Botox Injections

Botox injections are another method in which you can see dramatic results. Botox is a cosmetic injection that is placed directly in the target areas that cause the skin to contract and pull away wrinkles. This procedure is much less invasive than a traditional facelift, but it does require upkeep and repeat injections every 4 to 6 months. Botox injections can also be used to see if you want to be a candidate for a facelift procedure.

Resurfacing

Resurfacing is the wounding of the upper lips with lasers or dermabrasion to create a place where new skin is forced to grow. This method relies on your body’s ability to heal wounds and replace skin cells that are damaged. The wound stimulates the growing and new skin cells which aims to be smoother and healthier than the old skin. There is some downtime to this procedure, but less than surgical options.

Fillers

Fillers add volume and help soften lines and tissue loss. Examples of fillers include Restylane and Juvederm type products. These is usually no downtime with this procedure but it does have limited effect on fine wrinkles.

Chemical Peel

Along the same lines of resurfacing is the procedure of a chemical peel. Chemicals are placed on the surface of the skin to burn off old and wrinkled skin to create and spur new growth. The new skin cells will be healthier and smoother, thus reducing the appearance and wrinkles. This procedure is also limited on finer wrinkles.
