About Pimples

Pimples are small, inflamed lesions that can develop across the face and body throughout adolescence and adulthood. They can develop for several reasons, including the stimulation of the sebaceous glands, disruptions to your skin’s microbiome, cellular immune responses, and more. (1) While several retail products and treatments can address acne, many patients find that these products are simply not enough.

Instead of layering your makeup or spending money on semi-effective pimple patches, our team of board-certified dermatologists can schedule and perform your acne treatment on the same day you request it. This allows you to professionally transform the health and appearance of your skin before your pimple has a chance to grow or worsen.

Benefits of Same-Day Pimple Elimination

You can experience several benefits when electing to undergo same-day pimple elimination, including:

  • Same-Day Treatment: The primary benefit of our same-day treatments is that you can receive your treatment on the same day that you request it. This means you can receive the care that you need without waiting days to months for an appointment time.
  • Minimal Recovery Time: You may return to most of your daily activities shortly after receiving your treatment, allowing you to refine your skin’s appearance without taking extensive time away from your routine.
  • Reduced Discomfort: Receiving a same-day treatment can help you eliminate painful pimples sooner, alleviating any irritation or pain caused by inflammation or deep clogging.
  • Elevated Self-Confidence: Reducing the appearance of your acne can improve how you feel about your appearance.

Candidates

You may be a suitable candidate for our same-day pimple elimination treatments if you have developed a painful or irritating pimple that you are trying to address as soon as possible. Our acne treatments are especially effective at eliminating pimples that have been unresponsive to over-the-counter products.

To qualify for our acne treatments, you should be in good general health and maintain realistic expectations regarding the results of your treatment. Your skin should also be healthy and free from any active infections or damage in the treatment area. Your specialist will determine your candidacy during your personal consultation.

Personal Consultation

Before undergoing your treatment, your specialist will meet with you individually to determine the most effective acne treatment for your needs, as well as learn more about each of your concerns. They will discuss the differences between our acne treatments, how our team performs them, and their benefits and limitations. They will converse with you openly about your medical history, aesthetic concerns, and treatment goals. Your specialist will then use this information to determine the most appropriate solution for your goals before helping you prepare for it.

Preparation

Before coming in for your same-day treatment, we advise that you follow several guidelines to ensure the best possible results. These include:

  • Refrain from picking at, touching, or squeezing your pimple
  • Avoid the use of any harsh products in the treatment area, such as retinols, retinoids, exfoliants, or chemical solutions, as these may irritate your skin.
  • Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using moisturizer.
  • Arrive with clean skin that is free from any makeup or skin care products.

Procedure

Once your specialist determines your treatment method, they will lead you to a private treatment room where they will cleanse your skin to prepare it. They will then begin performing either microdermabrasion, CryoBlue, blue/red light therapy, or a chemical peel to address your stubborn acne.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a treatment that can restore smoother, clearer skin and a brighter complexion by gently removing the outermost layer of dead and damaged skin cells. Your specialist can perform this treatment by using a tool equipped with tiny crystals to gently exfoliate the treatment area. As they remove your dead cells, they will not only reveal fresher and healthier skin, but the treatment will trigger neocollagenesis, leading to improvements in your skin’s elasticity and appearance.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are skin treatments that use an irritating chemical solution to resurface the skin. Chemical peels remove layers of dead and damaged skin cells from the skin’s surface while stimulating the natural production of collagen, leading to improvements in its firmness, health, and overall appearance. Different chemical peels can vary in their depth of penetration depending on their ingredients, with dermatologists classifying each solution as light, medium, or deep. Lighter peels are gentler and primarily address milder concerns, while deeper peels offer more extensive results. (2)

Blue/Red Light Therapy

Blue and red light therapy use specific wavelengths of light to address acne-related concerns and restore your skin’s health and well-being. Blue/red light therapy uses a concept called photobiomodulation, which uses light energy to modify certain cellular functions within the body. (3) During this treatment, your specialist will shine a powerful blue light over the treatment area to kill the acne-causing bacteria in your pores and reduce inflammation. They may also shine a red light over the treatment area to quicken your skin’s natural healing process.

Recovery

Your recovery after your pimple elimination will vary depending on the type of treatment you receive and the extent of your corrections. After your treatment, you may experience some tenderness or redness in the addressed areas. These effects are temporary and will subside on their own shortly after, but you may use a cold compress or over-the-counter medication to manage them if you wish.

You will be able to return to most of your daily activities immediately after your specialist treats you. However, your specialist may direct you to follow certain guidelines as your skin heals. These may include refraining from wearing makeup, using certain skincare products, picking at your skin, and more. Your specialist will give you a full set of recovery instructions after your appointment to navigate each of these instructions and help you care for your skin as it heals.

Results

While our team can perform our acne treatments on the day that you request them, it is important to understand that your results may take time to develop, especially if your treatment is collagen-stimulating.

Once they do develop, you will be able to enjoy clearer, brighter, and smoother-feeling skin. Your problematic pimple will become less inflamed as it slowly shrinks and becomes less visually noticeable, leaving you with a more refreshed and radiant appearance.

FAQ

Will I be able to address a full face of acne during a same-day appointment?

While we offer full-face treatments during our same-day appointments, we recommend scheduling an appointment ahead of time if you are seeking to address more severe or cystic acne.

Will my pimple disappear on the same day as my treatment?

The results of your treatment will vary depending on your skin’s concerns and the type of treatment your specialist performs. While same-day results are achievable, your acne will disappear sooner after your treatment compared to not receiving your treatment at all.

Can I undergo same-day pimple elimination if I am taking isotretinoin?

You may undergo same-day pimple elimination if you are taking isotretinoin. However, you may not be eligible to receive certain treatments until 6 to 12 months after completing your medication regimen. (4) We recommend talking to your specialist about your isotretinoin use before receiving your treatment to ensure your pimple elimination treatment is suitable for your skin.

What pimple elimination treatments do you offer?

We offer treatments such as microdermabrasion, CO2 laser resurfacing, and chemical peels.

Can my specialist combine my same-day pimple elimination treatment with another aesthetic treatment for more enhanced results?

Yes, your specialist may pair your treatment with another if you wish. During your consultation, they can assess your medical history, personal goals, and skin quality to determine what other treatments can best help you accomplish your desired results.
