Also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty, Liquid Nose Lifts are a way of changing the shape of your nose without having to undergo potentially dangerous and expensive surgical procedures. People who don’t need a big change, don’t have the time to be out of commission during the recovery time for a standard nose reconstruction surgery, or those who might be more than a little afraid of the pain involved, may find that the Liquid Nose Lift is the solution to their nose issues.

How Does It Work?

Primarily used for people who have bumps or other uneven areas on their nose, a filler known as Voluma is injected into the surrounding areas to help even out the surface. The hyaluronic acid in the filler-a substance that naturally occurs in the skin but dissipates as we age-helps give the appearance of a straighter and more youthful nose.

The Pros of Liquid Nose Lifts

As stated earlier, the most important pro is NOT having to undergo surgery. The procedure takes about 15 minutes and is performed in a doctor’s office, allowing the patient to walk out of the office and return to normal life activities immediately. This brings us to the second pro: There is no recovery time needed! We live in a busy world filled with meetings, school events, social events, and family-who needs to spend any extra time “on the couch” recuperating if they don’t have to? And finally, the results are fast! No waiting for extensive swelling to go down or the incisions to heal; your new nose is apparent immediately and will look more natural, as well!

The Cons of Liquid Nose Lifts

First and foremost, Liquid Nose Lifts are not permanent. The results last about a year, and then it will be time to do it again, so if you are looking for a permanent change, you may want to steer away from this type of procedure. If you have medical issues, a deviated septum, or breathing issues, surgery will be required; liquid nose lifts have no affect on medical problems with your nose. And last but not least, if you already feel as if your nose is too large, this procedure is not for you. The fillers used will give your nose the appearance of being larger. If this is already a sensitive issue for you, it will be all that you notice every time you look in the mirror.
