When you find yourself pulling back the skin on either side of your face as you look in the mirror, it may be time to consider the amazing Mini Facelift that will put the “you” back in youth.
It can be frustrating when you're feeling so good on the inside and you look in the mirror and realize that your face doesn't reflect that. The skin in that area is fragile, and time, environment, and stress can take its toll. If you've decided to get a facelift, the professionals at Skin and Vein Michigan are ready to help you look your best.
Skin and Vein Michigan offers the incredibly effective Mini Facelift. Minimally invasive, this procedure helps reverse years of wear and aging signs on your face. It's performed right here in the office under local anesthesia, takes about an hour and a half, and recovery time is surprisingly short. That's why it's often called the "weekend lift!" Our resident physician, Dr. Seiger, has performed this procedure over 2,500 times, and patients are always thrilled with the results.
The procedure focuses on the neck and lower face, where signs of aging can be most prominent. Patients often elect to have this done in conjunction with other wrinkle-reducing treatments such as a brow lift or laser resurfacing. You'll receive a free initial consultation where we'll address your questions and explain the procedure to you in detail.
When you want a facelift, the right choice for experienced care is Skin and Vein Michigan. We are a member in good standing of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, and the American College of Phlebology. All major credit cards are accepted, and we offer flexible financing. Call our Sterling Heights, Fenton, or Garden City clinic today to set up your consultation.
Preparation:
Dr. Seiger often recommends the use of skincare products prior to a procedure but otherwise there is no preparation needed as long as you are in good health.
Procedure:
Step by Step Mini Facelift:
1. Premedication is generally given to relax the patient.
2. Local anesthesia utilizing the revolutionary Tumescent technique, is administered to insure the patient experiences minimal discomfort throughout the procedure.
3. Dr. Seiger makes an incision in the natural crease of the skin. The incision originates at the temple inside the hairline, above and forward of the ear and continues around the front of the earlobe.
4. Dr. Seiger lifts the skin outward and tightens and repositions the underlying muscles and tissues.
5. At this point, extra skin and fat may be removed.
6. The incision is closed with the smallest possible sutures.
From start to finish, the entire procedure takes approximately an hour and a half. Healing time varies slightly among patients, but the Tumescent technique for anesthesia allows for a shortened recovery period.
Aftercare: You can anticipate an easy and safe recovery.
Pain is generally minimal and can be controlled with oral medication
Post surgery, instead of bandages you will wear an ice containing head garment for 24-48 hours. You then will most likely be able to shampoo and wear make-up the day after surgery.
Your sutures will be removed in six to eight days.
85% of patients experience no bruising afterwards and most likely you will be able to resume normal activities within three days.
Results: You can expect to look rested, refreshed, five to ten years younger with results usually lasting 5-10 years.
