Mini-Facelift Aimed to Help Restore
People’s Confidence;
Change Lives; Instill
Sense of Well-Being and Self-Worth
Fenton, Mich. – May 26, 2011 – The Skin &
Vein Center (www.skinandvein.com) announced
the creation of “Project Uplift,” a program
designed to restore confidence, change lives
and instill a sense of well-being and
self-worth to deserving recipients.
Once per month, the Skin & Vein Center will
award a deserving individual a free
Mini-Facelift through “Project Uplift.”
Entrants must be over the age of 40 and
submit a short essay that answers the
question, “How a Mini-Facelift would change
my life, or the life of someone I love?”
Skin & Vein Center Founder and Medical
Director Dr. Eric Seiger, a board-certified
dermatologist and highly skilled cosmetic
surgeon, and his staff will select the
recipients of this gift.
Submissions, which must include a recent
photo, can be made via the link below or direct mail to:
Project Uplift, 305 N. Leroy, Fenton, MI
48430. Potential recipients also must be
available to have the procedure performed at
one of the Skin & Vein Center locations in
Fenton, Garden City or Sterling Heights.
Dr. Seiger developed the program to assist
communities in metropolitan Detroit and
Flint, which represent a cross-section of
some of the hardest hit communities of the
national economic crisis.
“With many people still unemployed and
others simply seeking to look as young as
they feel, we wanted to do something that
will help rejuvenate their self-perception,
and, hopefully, add to their quality of
life,” said Dr. Seiger. “Whether they are in
their 40s, 50s and 60s, many simply have
lost the confidence they once had and are
afraid to leave the home because of how they
have aged. Looking good helps people keep a
positive outlook, which shows through to
everyone from potential employers to family
and friends to complete strangers.”
Giving back to the community is nothing new
for the Skin & Vein Center. In 2008, Dr.
Seiger created “Freedom Ink,” which provides
free tattoo removals to ex-gang members who
want to hang up their “colors” in order to
better position themselves to move onto new
workplace opportunities. Since launching
“Freedom Ink,” Dr. Seiger and his staff have
performed hundreds of free tattoo removal
procedures at the Detroit Hispanic
Development Corporation.
“The days I go down there are some of the
most rewarding of my life,” said Seiger.
“Many of these ex-gang members are kids,
some of who have been in prison, who just
want to start over and seek new beginnings
in their lives.
“With ‘Project Uplift,’ the Skin & Vein
Center will be able to reach out to another
segment of the community. By providing these
services to people who otherwise could not
afford to have this work done, I know we
will directly make a difference in their
lives.”
According to Seiger, the Mini-Facelift is a
miraculous first line of defense against
early signs of aging. This virtually
painless 60-minute procedure is performed on
men and women whose skin is beginning to
lose elasticity, but are not in need of a
full-scale facelift.
“As we age, we start to lose lateral
structure in our faces and things begin to
drop down,” explained Seiger, who has
performed more than 2,500 Mini-Facelifts in
his career. “The great thing about our
Mini-Facelift is that this is one of the
easiest procedures for a patient to go
through. Typically, there is no bleeding.
Just 15 percent of our patients suffer any
bruising. In the end, this procedure will
make you look about 10 years younger and
will last about seven-10 years.”
